Teaching Weekend - 14-15 February 2020

Establishing and Strengthening Relationships

Relationships are part of our daily life – whether we know the person well or not. Within our own church family, it is healthy to identify the relationships we have, and how to nurture and strengthen them with God’s help and guidance. This teaching series will help participants understand how to communicate with new comers, members and well established friends!

Join us on February 14 and 15, 2020

Guest speaker Emma Graetz will present 3 sessions - please see the Teaching Weekend News Section for details.

About Golden Grove Lutheran Church

Welcome to Golden Grove Lutheran Church (formerly Golden Grove Lutheran Fellowship). Our pastor is Greg Fowler.

If you would like to know more about GGLC please free to use the contact form or directly contact one of the many people listed on this website who keep our church running smoothly.

What We Believe

Golden Grove Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Lutheran Church of Australia.

As Lutherans, we believe that we are saved by grace, for Christ's sake, through faith. In other words, there is nothing we can do to earn God's favour or to gain eternal life. Through his death and resurrection, Jesus Christ has won all this and more for us. We also believe that only the Bible is the source of inspiration and teaching.

The LCA website, "What Lutherans Believe", says more about what we subscribe to as members of the Lutheran Church.

Worship Services

Sundays 9:30am – Contemporary Style Worship

Golden Grove Lutheran Church has a contemporary worship service on Sunday mornings at 9:30am. All age groups are catered for during this service and if for some reason you are unable to attend, videos of each service are available. After the service the congregation shares coffee and tea.

Sundays 6:30pm – Salt Factory

The Salt Factory service takes its name from Matthew 5:13, where Jesus teaches Christians are the “salt of the earth” and should not blend in with everyone, but strive to affect others positively, just as seasoning brings out the best flavour in food. This service has a more informal style of worship featuring the Youth Band. A shared tea from 5:45pm precedes this service (except during school holidays).

On the first Sunday of every month we have a Prayer/Healing Service where anyone can come along and receive prayer for physical healing or anything happen in life.

Please note - there are no Salt Factory services during January. Services run from the first Sunday in February through to late December each year.

Fridays 8:45am – GGLPS Chapel

During school term Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School has chapel every Friday. Parents and friends are most welcome to join the teachers and students for worship from 8:45am.

Cafe Connect

Not just for members - anyone is welcome!

Café Connect is a place where we are brought together to enjoy great company, food and coffee. A place to laugh and share over a cappuccino or babycino, and experience a welcoming atmosphere and warm hospitality.

Café Connect is open weekday mornings during school term from 8am to 11am. Come in, grab a coffee, tea or snack - stay a while.

Golden Grove Lutheran Youth

GGLC Youth is a fun and uplifting friday night while developing a relationship with God. We all love to hang out with friends, so why not get to know Jesus while having great fun? The group meets weekly in the Youth room, with a games night one week and a bible study the following week, led by Pastor Greg. Ephesians 5:8 - "For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light".

Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School

GGLC is co-located with Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School (GGLPS) and church and school share a special relationship.

Golden Grove Lutheran Primary School provides R-12 education in partnership with Endeavour College. The school's mission is to provide a comprehensive programme of education that develops the values of integrity, Christian living and caring in each child and holds as its vision that the school will be a nurturing ground for our children to live purposeful lives to the glory of God.

Golden Grove Amateur Fishing

Golden Grove Amateur Fishing (GGAF) is about giving all people opportunities to fish in a Christ centered environment. GGAF meet every few weeks at a range of excellent fishing spots along the SA coast and regularly have "Fishing Tackle Nights" with guest experts. Every couple of years GGAF runs a Fishing and Boating Swap Meet for the community, with over 1000 people attending.

Connect Groups

Our wish is that all committed members belong to a Connect Group.  Being part of a Connect Group is very much a part of "caring for each other".  All groups are encouraged to have a healthy balance of fun, relaxation, service and study, though each group is unique in its makeup and focus.
